Can I get an EIN without an SSN or ITIN?
Yes. You do not need a US Social Security Number (SSN) or ITIN to apply for an EIN with GetEIN. We prepare Form SS-4 and file it with the IRS on your behalf.
My LLC is already formed — can you still handle the EIN?
Yes. GetEIN is built for LLCs that are already formed. Upload your formation document and answer a few questions — we use them to prepare your application.
My LLC already applied for an EIN, or already has one — can you help?
It depends. If your LLC already has an EIN, we cannot file a new application for the same LLC. If you applied somewhere else and are still waiting for the IRS, contact us first and we will check your situation.
What do I need to get started?
You need your LLC formation document (for example, Articles of Organization) and basic facts about your company. Upload the document, answer a few questions, and we handle the rest.
Timeline
How long does it take to get my EIN?
Filling out the form takes about 10 minutes. We review your application and submit it to the IRS within 24 hours. After that, processing timelines depend on the IRS and are not guaranteed. You can follow every step in your client portal.
How will I receive my EIN?
By email. When the IRS issues your EIN, we send the official document to your email address. We also keep a copy in your account documents.
What happens after you submit? How do I track it?
You can follow every step in your client portal. We watch the IRS fax line and follow up for you if there is no reply within 4 weeks. You do not need to do anything.

No. GetEIN is an independent service provider. We help you complete, check, and submit your forms. We are not affiliated with the IRS or any government agency.
What data do you collect, and how do you store it?
We collect what your application needs: your answers, your formation document, and your email address for sign-in. Your account and your application facts are stored separately, and documents are kept in private storage. See our privacy policy for full details.
What do you do with my formation document?
We use it to check your company details and prepare your form. You can view your document in your account at any time.
Do you track me on this site?
Only if you allow it. Analytics start only after you say yes, and events never include your answers or uploaded files. You can change your choice any time in privacy settings.
